SHORT CUTS TO PERFECT
FLAT TOPS, CREW CUTS, ETC.
Always cut from the back of the neck to the
crown, using the longest comb setting.
Hold the comb attachment flat against the
head and slowly move the clipper up
through the hair. Use the same technique
for the sides, cutting from the bottom to
the upper side of the head.
For the front to the crown, cut the hair
against the direction in which it grows.
Then even it up with the sides.
For a flat top, use the flat comb, not the
attachment comb. Just cut hair on top of
the head over flat comb. (see below).
To taper hair down to the neckline, use
attachment comb #1. Comb hair and
check for uneven spots. Outline sideburns
and neck areas (see “Outlining”).
Repeat around sides
and back of head.
If you want hair to be
even shorter:
A) Apply more
pressure to the head
with the attachment
comb that is in place.
This takes a little
practice, of course.
OR B) Just switch to a
shorter attachment
comb.
Remember, it’s better
to leave too much hair
than too little. For

This appliance is used on Alternating
Current 120V AC (60 hertz) only. To reduce
the risk of electric shock, this appliance has
a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit
in the polarized outlet only one way. If the
plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse
the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qual-
ified electrician to install the proper outlet.
Do not change the plug in any way. Do not
attempt to defeat this safety feature.
Your new Conair® haircut kit has every-
thing you need to achieve professional
haircuts at home. It features a powerful
clipper with adjustable taper control and
high carbon steel blades for cutting preci-
sion. Also included are 9 attachment

THE CONAIR GUIDE
TO CUTTING HAIR AT HOME
Before you start:
1. Inspect your clipper. Make sure it’s free of hair and
dirt, properly oiled, and running smoothly.
2. Place a towel or cape around the neck of the person.
3. Seat the person so that his or her head is at your
eye level.This gives you greater visibility and control.
4. First, comb hair until it’s tangle-free. Then hold clip-
per in a comfortable grip. Now you’re ready to cut.
MEDIUM TO LONG CUT
To begin with, cut only a small amount of hair
until you become used to the length each attach-
ment leaves the hair. Try the longest attachment
on the clipper first. If you want a shorter cut, you
can then use shorter combs.
• Short attachment comb (numbe
r 1) cuts hair to
1/8” (3.175mm).
• Medium-Short attachment comb (number 2)
cuts hair to 1/4” (6.350mm).
• Medium-Long attachment comb (number 3) cuts
hair to 3/8” (9.525mm).
• Long attachment comb (number 4) cuts hair
to 1/2” (12.700mm).
• Long attachment comb (number 5) cuts
hair to 5/8"
(15.875mm).
• Long attachment comb (number 6) cuts

• Left ear attachment comb lightly tapers over left

OUTLINING:
Outlining requires no attachments. Comb
hair into the desired style. Position the
clipper between the sideburns and the ear
(see below), making sure the corner edge
of the blade is against the hairline. With
the outline of the hair as your guide,
slowly move the clipper over, around and
behind the ears. For the back of the neck
and the sideburns, hold the clipper upside
down (see above) and, holding it against
the skin at the length desired, move the
clipper downward.
STOP. COMB. CHECK.
For best results, do as the professionals
do: comb hair often, and check clipping
results as you comb. This way you avoid
uneven sides, bangs, neckline, etc.
2. This appliance should not be used by, on,
or near children or individuals with certain
disabilities.
3. Use this appliance only for its intended
use as described in this manual. Do not use
attachments not recommended by the
manufacturer.
4. Never operate this appliance if it has a
damaged cord or plug, if it is not working
properly, if it has been dropped, damaged,
or dropped into water.
Return the appliance to service center for
examination and repair.
5. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
6.Never operate the appliance with the air
opening blocked or while on a soft surface,
such as a bed or couch, where the air
openings may be blocked.
Keep the air openings free of lint, hair and
the like.
7.Never drop or insert any object into any
opening.
8. Do not use outdoors or operate where
aerosol (spray) products are being used or
where oxygen is being administered.
9. Always attach plug to appliance first, then
to outlet. To disconnect, turn all controls to
“off”, then remove plug from outlet.
10. Do not place appliance on any surface
while it is operating.
11. Do not use this appliance with a
damaged or broken comb or with teeth
missing from the blades, as injury may
occur.
12. Avoid skin contact with moving blades.

Attach combs by
holding them teeth
up, then snapping
onto the bottom of
the clipper blade.
To remove comb
attachments,
place index finger
and thumb as
illustrated; then
pull out and up.
NOTE: Never push or shove the clipper
through the hair to make it move
more quickly. Professional experience
shows that the clipper works most
efficiently when it cuts through the
hair at its own speed.
To begin cutting hair:
1. The hair should be combed in its
natural direction.
2. Using the largest attachment comb, trim
sides from the bottom upward. Hold
clipper lightly against the hair with
teeth of the attachment comb pointing up-
ward, yet flat against
the head. Gradually
lift the clipper
upward and outward
through the
hair, trimming just a
little at a time.
3. Unplug clipper and slightly loosen
screws. (See FIG. 2)
4. Position the extreme left-hand tooth of
the top blade so that it either covers or
appears on the left of the first small tooth
on the bottom blade.
5. Make sure that the big tooth on the
bottom blade touches the extreme right hand
tooth of the top blade.
SPECIAL OIL
To maintain the blades of your Conair
®
clipper, oil them after every three or four
haircuts. Gently place a few drops of oil on
the teeth of the blades, using the
special Conair oil included with your set.
Turn the clipper on for a minute, then turn
off. This light, natural oil was formulated
specifically for the Conair
®
high-speed
clipper. Because it is the right oil to use, it
will not slow down the blades. Never use
any other product. There is no substitute
for Conair oil. Keep oil away from children.

CARE OF YOUR CLIPPERS
IF YOU DETERMINE THAT BLADE
ALIGNMENT IS INCORRECT:
Conair
®
hair clippers are carefully inspect-
ed to insure that the blades are in perfect
alignment. Of course you will need to
realign the blades after removal for clean-
ing or replacement, or if they should be
knocked out of alignment. How can you
tell if blades need realigning? Simply
match them up, point for point, to con-
form with FIG. 1 below:
To prevent the clipper from contacting the
skin or cutting too closely, make certain
that the end top blade teeth are 1/32” to
1/16” back from bottom blade.
To Align Blades:
1. Add two or three drops of
Conair Lubricating Oil
(included).
2.Turn clipper on for a
minute to disperse oil evenly
over blades, then turn off.

Siempre corte el cabello desde la parte
trasera de la nuca hacia la coronilla, usando
el peine accesorio más largo. Sostenga el
peine contra la cabeza y mueva la cortadora
lentamente en el cabello hacia arriba. Use
la misma técnica para los lados, cortando
desde abajo hasta la parte superior lateral
de la cabeza.
Para la parte delantera, corte el cabello en
la dirección contraria a la del crecimiento
natural del cabello, luego iguale los lados.
Para una coronilla plana, use un peine
plano en vez de un peine accesorio, y corte
el cabello encima del peine (véase el dibujo).
Para cortar el pelo en la nuca y en las patillas,
use el peine accesorio No.1 (Véase la sección
“Contorneo”).
Empezar el corte de

camente. Este aparato tiene un enchufe
polarizado (un polo es más ancho que otro).
Como medida de seguridad, se podrá ench-
ufar de una sola manera en la toma de corri-
ente polarizada. Si no entra por completo,
inviértelo. Si aún no entra completamente,
llame a un electricista calificado. No intente
vencer esta función de seguridad.
Su conjunto de peluquería de Conair® tiene
todo lo que usted necesita para lograr cortes
de cabello profesionales en su casa. Incluye
una cortadora para el cabello potente con
una palanca de ajuste de recorte y cuchillas
de acero duro para un cortado preciso.
También incluye 9 peines accesorios (3
mm, 6 mm, 9 mm, 13 mm, 16 mm, 19 mm,
22 mm, peine para la oreja izquierda y peine
para la oreja derecha), tijeras de peluquero,
una capa de barbero, un bolso de almace-
namiento, un peine de barbero con dientes
rectas y 2 clips para el cabello más largo.

GUÍA DE CONAIR PARA CORTAR EL
CABELLO EN SU CASA
Antes de empezar:
1. Inspeccione el aparato para asegurarse que esté
libre de cabello y polvo, que esté lubricado y que
funcione correctamente
2. Coloque una toalla o una capa de barbero alrededor
del cuello de la persona a quien le va a cortar el
cabello
3. Siente a la persona de manera que su cabeza esté
al nivel de sus ojos para mayor visibilidad y control
4. Desenrede el cabello, luego coja la cortadora
confortablemente en su mano. Ya está listo para
empezar.
CORTES MEDIANOS A LARGOS
Empiece por cortar poco cabello, hasta acostum-
brase al cortado de cada peine accesorio. Use el
peine accesorio más largo para empezar, luego
use peines accesorios más cortos para acortar el
cabello.
• El peine accesorio corto (No.1) corta el cabello
O, B) Cambie el peine accesorio por uno más
corto. Recuérdese que es mejor dejar
demasiado cabello que muy poco.
Si quiere dejar el cabello más largo encima de
la cabeza, use el peine de barbero o sus
dedos para levantar el cabello y corte a lo
largo deseado. Trabaje siempre de adelante
por atrás de la cabeza y corte el cabello poco
a poco, reduciendo el espacio entre sus
dedos o el peine y la cabeza. Peine con
frecuencia para verificar que no hayan
mechones disparejos y para eliminar el cabello
cortado.
CONTORNEO
El contorneo no requiere accesorios. Peine
el cabello en el estilo deseado. Coloque la
cortadora entre las patillas y la oreja (véase
el dibujo) y asegúrese que la esquina de la
cuchilla se encuentre contra el nacimiento
del pelo. Mueva la cortadora lentamente
sobre, alrededor y por atrás de las orejas,
siguiendo la forma del cabello. Para cortar
el pelo en la nuca y las patillas, sostenga la
cortadora al revés (véase el dibujo),
colóquela contra la piel al nivel deseado y
muévala hacia abajo.

Para ensamblar el
peine accesorio,
sosténgalo cabeza
arriba y engánchelo en
la parte inferior del filo
de la cortadora.
Para quitar el peine
accesorio, cójalo entre
los dedos índice y pul-
gar, tal como se ve en
la ilustración, y jale el
peine hacia arriba y
afuera
NOTA: Nunca empuje la cortadora para que
corte más rápidamente. La experiencia profe-
sional demuestra que funciona mejor cuando
corta a su propia velocidad.
3. Desenchufe el aparato y afloje ligera-
mente los pernos (FIG.2)
4. Asegúrese que el extremo diente
izquierdo de la cuchilla superior cubra o
esté a la izquierda del primer diente
pequeño de la cuchilla inferior.
5. Asegúrese que el diente grande de la
extremidad derecha de la cuchilla inferior
toque el diente de la extremidad derecha
de la cuchilla superior.
ACEITE ESPECIAL
Para mantener las cuchillas de su cortado-
ra en condición óptima, lubríquelas
después de tres o cuatro cortes de cabello.
Aplique unas cuantas gotas de aceite lubri-
cante en los dientes de las cuchillas,
encienda la cortadora durante un minuto,
luego apáguela. Este aceite lubricante
ligero fue específicamente diseñado para
las cortadoras de alta velocidad de
Conair®. Porque es el aceite adecuado, no
reducirá la velocidad de las cuchillas.
Nunca use otro aceite para lubricar su
aparato. No hay ningún substituto al aceite
de Conair.
INSTRUCCIONES DE
MANTENIMIENTO
ALINEACIÓN DE LAS CUCHILLAS
Mantenimiento de las cuchillas:
Las cortadoras de Conair® son inspec-
cionadas para asegurarse que las cuchillas
estén perfectamente alineadas. Usted nece-
sitará alinearlas nuevamente después de
extraerlas para limpiarlas o reemplazarlas o
si se desalinearan por un golpe. Para deter-
minar si las cuchillas necesitan alinearse de
nuevo, simplemente hágalas coincidir
como lo indican la figura que se encuentra
a continuación (FIG.1).
Para evitar que la cortadora corte el pelo
demasiado corto o que las cuchillas
toquen la piel, asegúrese que la extremidad
de la cuchilla superior esté a una distancia
de 0.08 cm a 0.16 cm de la cuchilla inferior.
Para alinear las cuchillas:
1. Coloque unas 2 o 3 gotas de aceite
lubricante en las cuchillas
2. Encienda el aparato. Déjelo
encendido durante un minuto
para repartir el aceite, luego
apáguelo.
